about

"crazymixedupfeeling" comes from 1999. One of the first songs I wrote that year, coming off my double-cassette album releases the previous year. I felt the need to write a real rock song. The Spookyhorse band did a rough studio recording in the summer, with myself on drums and guitar, but that's the extent of the public exposure for that song, really.

Until 2009! I randomly brought it out at a residency I had going with The Mod Villains, and in the middle of a solo set, I started in on the chords to "crazymixedupfeeling"! To make it even better, Spookyhorse bandmate Jeff Kahl was in the audience, with a guitar, and as soon as he realized what I was doing, he veritably lept up and hit the stage for some harmonies and lead guitar action!

A fun rocker, with some good banter at the end...
