"On Loneliness" is a tricky one to do, live in concert. Fundamentally, it is meant to be a long song; it really doesn't work well as a shorter piece, and so I usually only pull it out when I'm comfortable it will sound good with the players complementing my guitar and vocal.

Which tonight's performance did! Man, what a difference having a passionate and talented lead guitarist, and an authentic djembe player from Nigeria, and some background organ, and 5 people singing harmony, can make!

This one comes from a benefit show thrown together in Toronto, where we all rehearsed each other's songs once beforehand. Love working with folks like this, where you never know in what direction they will take your song!

A side note: the recording sounds a little thin, only because in the next room, there was a band playing thrash-noise, with heavy bass, which I had to filter out of my own recording from the next room over, because it was just intruding on the song too much!
